With the release and positive reception of their debut EP the parts we could not abandon, cutsleeve is grateful to perform again and have missed sharing songs that explore their queer diasporic experiences. From punk to alt rock, you’ll hear music that is as diverse as the group itself.
About cutsleeve
cutsleeve is a four-piece queer East Asian rock band in what is currently known as “Toronto”. We were brought together to explore the complexities of our own queer racialized identities and repurpose rock music for our own healing and expression. Each of us also have our own unique experiences and relationships with our racialized identity as we were born into different generations of settlement in Canada. Some of us understand the languages, culture, and practices of our ethnic origins, and some of us don’t (and yet we are expected to). It is only through the band that we have created a safer space to explore music as a creative outlet and without it, we wouldn’t be as engaged with music as we are now. Our debut EP “the parts we could not abandon” is available to listen everywhere (except Amazon).
